DEVON WEISS: OUR MYSTERY GIRL.

by Sarah Kowaney
"I used to be pretty quiet and shy. I didn't like attention and I was kind of self-conscious. My whole life was about getting out of high school…and certainly not doing anything involving attention on me." With this mentality, up-and-coming model Devon Weiss never expected what the future had in for her.
At the age of 14, Devon was discovered backstage at a live taping of American Idol. When her and her sister spotted Miss J. Alexander from America's Next Top Model, they decided to approach him. He insisted that Devon had to have been a model; when she said that she wasn't, he took a few snapshots of her and referred her to Warning Model Management. Shortly after, she went to the agency and was signed on the spot. As simple as that, the dreams of many became a reality for Devon.
With the help of her manager, Omar Alberto, Devon has already accomplished so much. He's been her backbone, pushing her to work hard and simply believing in her. "He told me that I was going to be something," she says, "and that I had so much potential. He raised my self-esteem and helped mold me into what I am now." Devon has already worked with numerous models from America's Next Top Model, including Cycle Nine winner Saleisha. She has worked with fashion photographer Bruce Weber for an Abercrombie & Fitch ad, as well as already booked various runway shows for up-and-coming designers Jesse Kamm, Melissa Coker, Whitley Kros, Kelly Nishimoto, and Suh-Tahn.
What's next for this L.A. model? Devon plans on staying in L.A. for now. She recently shot her first commercial, and plans on honing her acting skills in addition to modeling. In the meantime, Devon will soon be featured in Vogue and InStyle in an ad she worked on with celebrity hairstylist Ken Paves. As for the future, if you see Devon walking the runway, on a billboard, in a feature film, or wearing your favorite designer in Vogue...don't be surprised.

Where did you dredge up that fantasy story?
As the first photographer to have shot her... and KNOWING where she came from... it seems a bit curious(ly in error!)
